On April 22nd, 10 Model A Fords from the Capistrano Valley A’s Ford Club met at Ruby’s Autodiner in Laguna Beach. After swapping stories about our Model A’s, we enjoyed more conversation during a pleasant breakfast before an impromptu tour of Dana Point Harbor area.
On Saturday August 15th, 3 cars from Capistrano Valley A’s toured from the San Juan Capistrano Train Depot up historic Pacific Coast Highway to Fairview Park in Costa Mesa to ride the Orange County Model Engineers Railway. At Fairview Park, the Capistrano Valley A’s members met with several members of the Orange County Model A Ford Club to get a private tour of the facilities before riding the scale model trains. After riding the 5 miles of track at Fairview Park, the Capo Valley A’s members a rail enthusiast’s open house to see his HO scale train layout. The layout featured HO scale Model A and Model T Fords and intricate landscapes and backdrops.
The OCME Railway has 5 miles of track in the park and offer free rides to the public on the third weekend of every month.
Capistrano Valley A’s participated in the 24th annual Lake Forest Independence Day Parade. We had the maximum number of cars allowed for car clubs in the parade at 14 cars. The parade had a good turn-out and our Ford Model A cars were a hit with young and old alike.
On Saturday May 16th, 9 members of the Capistrano Valley A’s met at Boomer’s Family Entertainment Center in Irvine for a fun round of mini golf with friends. See the full gallery in the Members Only area.
